Today when I went to start my '89 240 in Park the key wouldn't turn in the switch; I jiggled the steering wheel (the wheel is not locked) but no luck so I put the trans in Neutral and the key turned and started. Now it won't turn at all; no matter what I do. I tried my spare key but no luck. Is it the ignition column lock / switch gone bad? Is there any trick I can do to get it started short of taking it all apart....or do I have to get it towed to a shop? Help! Thanks

 

There may be a problem with a switch in the shifter area. You should wait for a real mechanic to come on or PM tech. Not real sure about the 240's.
