Default Help me identify this part
I have no idea what this is or what it does. It isn't hooked up. Can someone please advise? thanks

on a 83 240 Wagon with a 2.3 FI engine

I'm not positive but from pic looks like auxillary air slide valve even though I thought that was mounted on valve cover

It seems like in other pictures I pull up no other engines have this on it. It looks oem but could be something someone added or moved?

It looks kinda like a charge air overpressure cut off switch. But that would only matter to a turbo model car.
