help on timing 740

Default help on timing 740

i have a 91 740 volvo with b230f which way advance timing by turning the distributor know one way retard another way advance

740 does not adjustable timing in the US models-dist. does not move.

my volvo was made belgium not the us

Do you have Motronic injection? Or Bosch LH2.4? Assuming you have your timing belt installed correctly, the only way to adjust the LH2.4 timing is by grounding various pins on the ecu. Generally, if an LH2.4 motor is out of time, it is the result of someone neglecting to get the intermediate shaft lined up.

Edit...just checked and Motronic was only used on the B230ET. Your non-turbo is LH2.4. Has the timing belt been changed lately?

it non turbo b230f and yes timing belt has been changed i set timing at 0 on lower timing cover but how to set it at stock timing cause some people says its 12 degrees btdc
