Default Hesitation at startup

Newly purchased 92 740GL wagon. 2.3l non turbo, 152000. When first started for the day, it will idle fine, but if you lightly depress the gas pedal, the engine will slow down, hesitate and almost stall, but keep running. After a minute or so of driving, it is fine, and doesn't have this problem on the restart. Has new plugs, airfilter, and recently passed an emissions test. No apparent vacuum leaks, any ideas or help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance

Alex

Default RE: Hesitation at startup

When it is at idle the throttle position sensor has a small microswitch in it that tells the computer it is at idle. When you press on the gas it takes its signal from the varible resistor in the throttle position sensor. Check throttle position sensor for smooth operation. Voltage should go from .5v idle- 4.5v at wot key on not running. Clean Idle air control. Clean throttle body(throttle body cleaner only). I think it is one of these three.
