Hi all ->newbie
hello all i just bought this Volvo 740 turbo wagon from my friend, everything is ok just for 1 thing, the automatic trasmision jumps as soon as i put the handle in D, then when it changes from first to the second gear feels like a jump in the car and finally I have q to decelerate the car in order to pass from second to third gear.
what i have done is change the transmission fluid and replace the transmission filter, but the problem is still there, then a Volvo specialist told me to check the kickdown cable, but i dont know how to check it? so anyone can help me?
Thanks for the help and advice.

the kick down cable is one of the three connected to that pully looking thing on the top of the engine. It's the one that trails down to the transmission. A quick fix to see if it's the problem is to take some lite weight oil (3 in 1 works well...as does sewing machine oil) and try to get it down the housing around that cable. Work it in a little and experiment with that pully and see if it'll lossen up.
If it is the problem, then get it replaced. Otherwise...pull the codes and see what happens.

Thx man i'll check the kick down cable with my friend, but also i have another question...i want to change my 1987 front spoiler (that 1 under the bumper) to a 1990 front spoiler? do u think it will feed well in the old bumber?
