A semi educated guess here (cause I am only semi educated), drains from the rear window or sunroof I would think.

yeah, they are the drains from the airvent trap under the rear window, and from the sunroof tray.

on an older car, its a good idea to verify that water flows freely down to the ground (they come out somewhere just behind the back wheels, I believe), and if not, disconnect the hoses, and use a wire or something to clear the flug that accumulates, also clear them from under the car.

there's also some up front that drain the sunroof tray down the window pillars and come out just behind the front wheels, they probably aren't visible, but you likely want to run a wire up them to clear any debris. ditto there is a drain in the gas filler area just under the gas cap. I find a thicker wound steel guitar string works great for this sort of thing, the 'nut' on the end of the string can help clear crud out.

oh. if you don't have a sunroof, heh, you probably don't have the Y back there which leads up the C pillars towards the roof. but you still have drains up front from the ventilation input tray, and these definately should be kept clear or rain water will dribble down behind the dashboard and the resulting corrosion and mildew will make for unhappy times.

ok, thanks...yeah no sunroof but appear to be unblocked. will check front since i know it sat for a liitle while under some trees before i got it. is it normal for there to be leaves and straw underneath and to the back of the dash? Located a good amount of leaves under the cnter of the dash while cleaning the other day. It is a very clean car on the inside except for that...

they might have blown in when a door was open on a windy day or something, I dunno. swirling winds can do odd things.

there really shouldn't be any path for Mickey to get inside if the windows are closed, unless one or more of the rubber body plugs are missing. I usually find Mickey's signatures in my engine compartment when the car has been parked for a few weeks. One car, my wife's old 965, the damn rodent ate a 6" hole in the felt pad under the hood and used the material for nesting on the exhaust manifold. Was really glad I"d checked the oil before starting it, could easily have turned into an engine compartment fire.
