Default How to change a trun signal indicator bulb

On my 1984 240 DL wagon the left turn signal indicator light in the dash has burned out. How do you get in the dash (right with the speedo and clock) to change the bulb? What all has to be taken off? Any help is appreciated.

Remove headlight **** and dimmer ****; they pull straight off. Pry the faceplate behind the ***** straight out, gently levering in the crack by cluster will get it out. Two phillips screws will be exposed that hold that side in. On the right side of the cluster you probably have 2 square blanks covering mounting points for gauges, pry both straight out. This will expose the other 2 phillips screws. Have the steering wheel pointing straight ahead and pull both the turnsignal switch and wiper stalk dow to their lowest position. The cluster will come straight out. There is a boatload of connectors back there but it's not too bad. There are 2 multiconnectors that can only plug in one way. Pay attention to the individual wires, might want to label them until you've done it a few times. Being an 84, you have a cable driven speedo so you'll have to gently work the anti-tamper plastic ring off the base of the speedo where the cableenters. After this you can ease the cluster out and take a look at it. On the backside you can see all the various bulbs. Depending on the year, you may have bulbs with built in bases or not. Most dealers seem to still stock these. If your cluster is dirty, this is a great time to clean it up. There are 7 screws along the perimeter of the case that will allow you to pull the black case off the cluster. From this point forward be careful of the exposed faces. You can clean the inside of the clear plastic case and get dried Coke removed that's been there for 20 years, dead bugs and the like. Good luck!
