Default Ignition problems

Hi everyone,

Just joined in...
I have a 97w 940 turbo which runs fine but has two problems which I suspect are connected:
1. When the engine is warm (and only then) it has problems starting and I need to pess down on the accelerator for a minute or so until the RPMs "stabilize" at ideling speed and stop droping to 0
2. On low speeds the car accelerated poorly until the turbo kicks in at > 2000 rpm. This is much better when the A/C is off

the entire air hosing is old and cracked but I haven't actually seen and air leaks or torn pipes.

Any suggestions as to what to try to fix first?

Thanks!

Yotam

Hi and welcome to VolvoForums.

Cracks = leaks. Smoke it to make sure.

Fix any air leaks. Change the Fuel Pressure Regulator.
