I am trying to find a replacement for the intake air preheater hose from the exhaust manafold to the air filter box Volvo part number 9135184 which is no longer available. Does anyone know of a source or an alternative? Thanks in advance.

Make sure your air box thermostat is still working properly - It should close off the air flap and not allow preheated air about 45 degrees. When the thermostat fails the flap is stuck in hot air mode - Great for damaging air mass meters. I trust you are in a cold climate or an area where ALL emission controls have to be present. Otherwise I would accidentally lose that tube and the flap in the airbox would somehow get stuck in the cold air position.

 

Thank you so much. I had looked at FCP but never got a part number cross reference! I don't understand but it is ordered today and we will see if it indeed is the same. It looks the same and is 1/4 the "volvo" brand listed on the same page on FCP.

 

If memory serves you don't need to use a specific Volvo part hose--any such type flex hose is fine as long as the diameter is correct, it just pressure fits over the exhaust shield and the air box on the other end, and can be cut to size.

 

The difficulty in my parts search was that "usparts.volvocars.com" has a typo in the part number diagram that I did not catch! They list the hose as 9135184 but the correct number is 9135841. Thanks again for helping me out.
