Default intermittent stalling 240 volvo

Need help please. In las vegas - since 110 + heat my 1988 240 Volvo w 200 k + miles has hesitated and stalled and will not idle and no power. Let it sit for 30 minutes it runs - then runs well. Drive it for an hour in heat and it stalls in traffic. Replaced fuel pump relay, plugs, wires and coil. Nearly new dist cap. Thinking main fuel pump that is in line might be culprit but these guys are very reliable. Any advice will be highly appreciated. thanks.

Check your in-tank pump for operation. If it's working, I would check the fuel pressure regulator vacuum hose for leaks and test the regulator itself by testing fuel pressure. Also, in that kind of heat it's pretty crucial to keep a good amount of fuel in the tank in order to cool the fuel pumps. With a low a fuel level, the pumps get overly hot.
