Default Just bought a 1995 940 Turbo with 87k!

Hi all,

Long time European car enthusiast, and have just acquired my first Volvo. It's an incredible find with just 87,000k on it and looks and drives like new.

Now, I'm not sure if this is a touchy subject or not (met a few 'leave it as is' purists in my BMW days haha), but I am going to manual swap this car, and I'd like to start collecting parts now while I enjoy it as is.

I've done it before on a BMW E30 so I'm familiar with the process, if not the specifics of this vehicle. After some searching, I haven't found enough info to have confidence in what the best way to go about this is, and the forum threads that exist, all seem to be 10+ years old.

I have a couple of questions for anybody who has done this:

Is there a comprehensive how-to out there that I just haven't found?
What would be the best transmission for this swap (I've heard that T5 is a good choice) and what parts would be required.

Thanks for your time, hoping to learn and eventually contribute some value here.
