Hey Volvo dudes. I found this old gal, and I wanted to ask if this car is a good deal, or should I pass on it. The owner says the car won't go over 50mph due to the turbo needs replacing. Would a faulty turbo on one of these cause that ? or would it be something more serious ? If it's just a turbo swap, then I can fix this, but if it's more complex then maybe not. I found a genuine Mitsubishi 15g that would make for an great upgrade. I found this particular 15g for really cheap, it's in great condition, and it would be a sin not to get it. But I'd only go through with it if the car turns out to be good. So I just wanted to get your guys' opinion.

the stock turbo in a 91 940 is probably a td04 or td05. you sure that 15g is a bolt up direct match ?

Someone familiar with the volvo turbos of that era should give that thing a thorough prepurchase inspection, the engine problems easily could be more involved than a simple turbo swap.
