Default **** under tb and flame trap questions

The **** under the tb, the one under what looks like the idle backstop screw on the tb, what is it? Fairly new to actually wrenching on fi cars.

Second question regards the flame trap. One of the previous owners didn't bother returning the flame trap filter during a self-service. Are the only places to get one is either try to find a red block in a local boneyard and clean it up or ipd? Tried to see if Advanced could get one, but when they looked it up it showed a pic of a window switch instead Thoughts, questions, concerns?

You should put the year so people have a better idea what you are working on since there were a few different fuel injection systems used in 240's

I think the **** is for adjusting the fuel mixture.

"Filter", you mean the flame trap? Both the trap and the separator are widely available.

Hi, new here... I imagine that u r referring to K-Jet system. The "black ****" is for adjusting idle speed.

Sorry bout the year confusion. My 240 is a 1987.

The idle did drop down when I was monkeying with it. Also learned why the idle was set at 1100. One of the previous owners obviously didn't want to replace the motor mounts and has a bit of a rock at a 950+/- idle.
