I did the flame trap cleaning on my 1994 850, and boy was it dirty...and then I accidently broke...
Well guys,
I followed this write up on cleaning the flame trap...let me tell ya...my 1994 850 with 270,000 miles needed it. The flame trap was so nasty, filled with oil/crud...I cleaned it with compressed air and degreaser and put it back in...
Well, then when I tried to put it all back together the 30 minute job to 3 hours. I broke the CRANKCASE VENTILATOR House...luckily it broke not at the base because that's way down in the engine, it broke in the middle...so I got some rubber hose from the auto store and slid it over the broken plastic hose...so far so good...i think I escaped a bullet
Well, I also had to take off/loosen this shiny metal plate held on by two bolts and when I did that I think I loosened up the fuel injector and it was hissing/fuel was squirting...so i tightened it back up and no problems yet...did I do anything bad there?
I can't see a leak, but I can smell a little fuel...How many injectors are there? I believe there is one on each side of that metal plate on the top of the engine...Is that the fuel rail?
Give me your input please...
Sorry about my rambling...but I'm not too familiar with these volvos...
Here is the link I used...highly recommended...

5 injectors
If you leak some gas it might take a few days to evaperate all the way.

Between leaking gas and leaking/spilled antifreeze, I don't know which smell takes longer to evaporate/go away[:-]
to help get rid of the smell, open the hood up after driving it...so long as you are in a secured neighborhood...
