I just purchased my 1992 240 sedan a few days ago and I have no problems to speak of except this one annoyance. When I hit a bump at any speed of 35 mph or more I hear this insanely loud POP/Click sound. My wife described it as someone popping a chewing gum bubble. I have only heard the sound three times, and the first time it scared me it was so loud. It seems to be coming from the dash area, but could be from underneath - I haven't been able to pinpoint the location of the sound since it doesn't happen frequently.

ANY help with this issue is greatly appreciated.

My gut feeling (and i am not a mechanic by any stretch of the imagination) is that it has something to do with the suspension.

I have not heard this sound at all when driving at slower speeds.

Check the bushing at the back of the lower control arms.It is mounted in a bracket.
Also check the sway bar bushings.
