MA FSensors - 0986280101 vs 0986280102
hi and hello:
Does anybody know the difference between Mass Air Flow Senor p/n 0986280101 and 0986280102? My application is for a 1992 VOLVO DL-240 4DR sedan non-turbo B-230F engine. Can I use the *********102 in place of the ********101?? If yes, any noticeable difference in gas economy? Will the Self Diagnostic Program (Fault codes) for the LH-2.4 FI display a code or Engine Check Lite ON?
VOLVO literature says use BOSCH 0280212016. Another p/n is 0986280101. The latter is also BOSCH, I think. Both p/ns have 6-ckt pins for the 6-ckt plug with snap clip.
I cannot find the BOSCH 0280212016. No availability or out of stock. I can use la ook a like and aftermarket but so manty people on this forum say they are "junk" and don't work.
Thank you in advance. I have a used BOSCH 0280212016 arriving from England and will install upon arrival. I guess with 31-year-old VOLVO the MAF sensor made for OEM use is bound to become discontinued.

I'm not familiar with the part numbers but it is my understanding that the MAF that was used on the LH 3.1 fuel injection system can be used on the LH 2.4 system. MAFs from LH 2.2 and earlier will not work.
If you are putting a new Bosch MAF in, make sure that the thermostat in your air box is functioning properly or the pre-heater hose is removed. What really fries these MAFs is hot air off of the exhaust manifold is sucked in during the summer.
