Default Manual Shifter drops in an 89 240 DL

Hey all so I know that the shifter is seated in a ring and that ring, which may be plastic must have just worn thin or something but I have no idea what the name of that would be. so I am having trouble finding the part number. The shifter still holds a bit but it drops every couple miles due to vibration or bumps in the road. Any help in finding the part or an exploded view of the shifter assembly would be a huge help.

thanks
MartinJon

I'll look it up when I get home. probably can find you a parts diagram too.

do you have the M46 4 speed with electric overdrive (switch on top of the shift ****), or the M47 5 speed transmission ?

looks like the M47 5-speed is the only stickshift on an 89, so...
