More 940 a/c quirks
Here's one to puzzle the mind: my newly bought '93 Turbo Wagon has a known ac leak, needs a fix and recharge. But, I just tried turning it on and the compressor cycles on and off with the ac button, on the dash, pushed in. Which according to the owners manual should deactivate the ac system. It should turn on when the button is out but that's when the compressor stops it's cycling. Anybody experience that before?

maybe someone swapped your HVAC control panel with one from a older/later car? my 92 is AC off when in, AC on when out, and the button is labeled "AC OFF". my button lights a faint orange when its pushed in. I forget if it was the earlier or later cars that were AC when in, no AC when out.

Well that's interesting, to switch the in/out direction in the middle of a model run. My first thought was switched wires but I doubt it cuz the original owner knew nothing about the car and had the dealer do EVERYTHING. And talk about gouging, If I add all the repairs bills he saved it would be double the price of the car. It's useless to ask but...why did they do those things?
