My $200 1986 Volvo 245DL
Also my AC seems to have leaked out while I was away. Wouldn't turn on and when I hooked up my manifold the low side was at 10psi with the AC off. Couldn't find the leak with a black light so I just threw in a can of R134 that I still had and it's at least enough to keep me from getting sweaty.
I'm spending a lot on refrigerant alone. Worth it to stay cool though.
Talking to a guy on Craigslist about buying a set of corona wheels (The vaney ones) complete with caps for $50. If I can get those, I think they'd look pretty good.Anyway, it's time for tonight's new problems:
The AC won't cycle on/off. If the **** is anywhere but off, the AC compressor stays on. Also the blower doesn't shut off even with the AC off. I always have it on, but still. Then the coolant leak which I made a separate thread about. And there's a minor leak at one of the valve cover bolts where the spark wire separator is attached. Wasn't loose at all, but I still tightened it a bit. Still sounds like it's falling apart when I go fast from a stop, but that's normal.

Did some dirt donuts earlier. It's fun.
Decided to take off the rear muffler just to see how it sounds. Used the exhaust clamp to finally clamp the cat onto the resonator as it was just sitting in there.
It's not bad, but I probably still won't keep it this way.

Popped my muffler back in with a new clamp, topped off my AC until it stopped bubbling in the sight glass (Much colder now), and spent about 5 minutes with a rag and some acetone to make my trim and mirrors to look like new again. It wasn't terrible before, but I got wax on the black stuff under the windows which made it look pretty bad. Then I washed it.

My car is making new sounds. There's the weird knocking thing that happens when the clutch is slipping in first, but now it makes this weird rapid clicky/knocky sound. It happens in all gears but it's the worst in second. No idea what it is. Only happens when I get on the gas, like past halfway.
Okay, so I managed to replace the trans mount all on my own. It was a bitch of a job, but I did it. Only one rounded off bolt too!
The knocking in first when slipping the clutch is finally gone, but the new noise and the shifter being moved over still persist. Except now the noise is around low-half throttle, high throttle doesn't really make it. And I can make the noise just by revving the engine.
Also after work I pushed the gas down and the car fell flat on its face. And it idled kinda rough, so I pulled over and wiggled all the plug boots. It persisted, so I stopped to try and record the issue, then it magically went away. I've had this before too, it's weird.

For some reason now the engine runs like crap until it's fully warmed up. Like, bad idle and it'll fall on its face past 1/4-1/2 throttle. A steady 30MPH with your foot on the floor isn't fun. A shop is gonna take a look underneath it for me on Monday, see what's up with the trans.
According to my mechanic I toasted the engine mounts. Which I thought were fine since the engine doesn't move very much at all when I push and pull on it and they looked okayish.
He did use the word "shot" a worrying amount of times on the phone though.. I thought my frame was mostly solid, but turns out above where the trans crossmember bolts in the frame is just rotten. Oh well. My plan is to keep it running good, get that B230FT+ from the 780 Bertone, then in the future when the cancer is too bad I'll get something with a good body/frame to swap the engine and bits over.
