Default My new to me 240gl estate

Hi all,

Eli in France here.

Bought this beauty via online classifieds a month ago, flew down to check her over and drove her 1000km home. She's got almost 300k km on the clock and is very smart apart from a rotten passenger floor and a rusty rear valance.

Just did 200km today on small roads, happily cruising at 80kmh and fuel mileage is about 11.5l/100km so just a tad above the handbook data.

Ironically I bought the volvo to tie me over until my merc w123 wagon is finished (still a year and a lot of money away) but I like it so much I'm planning to sell the merc and hopefully recoup most of my costs and keep the volvo!

We've got a few classics here and I do almost all the maintenance myself but I'm hoping the brick won't need much done to it

Got a squeal when I let the clutch out when setting off (release bearing? No clutch slip that I can tell) and the rear shocks or bushes feel knackered, the 2nd fuel pump (not the one in the tank) makes a lot of noise and gets louder the more the tank empties but other than that it's perfect.

Taking it on holiday this summer, should be about 2500km all in. I've started saving up for the petrol costs...

Looks very nice but what about the rusty floor? I wouldn't like to deal with that.
