new, need help identifying this turbo

Default new, need help identifying this turbo

First off I know how muchI hate it when n00bies don't use the search button. I did use the serach button and the best I could come up with was this.

I don't think I missed any threads but if I did feel free to correct me and point me in the right direction.


I picked this turbo up on Friday for $60. Im told it came off a 240 series volvo. It seems to be in pretty good shape withminimal shaftplay. I think I want to rebuild it just to be on the safe side.

For the life of me I can not find out the exact specs on this thing.

Is it oil cooled? Water cooled? Oil/Water cooled? What PSI will this bad boy push? safe ammount of boost vs its max? what size is the exhaust housing? etc etc etc all responses are welcome

It looks like it is only oil cooled.
That thing should run safe at 10 PSI.
About 12 max.

What are you looking to put it on?

it will be going onto my 86 accord

2.0L closed deck cast iron 4 banger
single cam
12v

gonna have a lot of head work done 2.5"-2.75" exhaust

im lookign for 280ishWHP think that's doable with this turbo?

Might be not really good with the honda specs.
I have see Volvo's stock engine setup running that turbo at 12 PSI and run in the low 13's high 12's with a small shot of Nos.

so NOBODY knows this turbo's stats? or even where i can go look for them?
