No Muffler, What to Expect?
Went to get an inspection on my 1994 940 wagon non turbo, B230F, and the rear half of the exhaust was so full of holes they couldn't get an exhaust reading from the tip. So I cut it off after the cat and dumped it out in front of the rear wheel. It passed the emissions test (and he let me slide on the exhaust exit location).
So as of yesterday the exhaust has no muffler or resonator (still has the cat and anything else factory between that and the engine). Should I expect to burn up any valves fairly quick or would I be ok running like this for a while? I plan on putting a resonator in eventually but no time soon. It's just so loud and gargly I feel like it's horrible for the engine.
Any thoughts are appreciated.
