See if it keeps getting better. It might still be burning the oil out of the exhaust system.

Also look and see how dirty the throttle body is.

Has anyone messed with the throttle body before?

The throttle body is fairly clean, as far as someone mess with it I'm not sure, the car had these problem when I purchased it for a whooping $100.00 bill, you think I should check the valve clearance if so what should it be?

First check the throttle switch for the Idling problem. Turn the car off. Then open the hood and get close to the throttle body. Listen closely with you ear and open the throttle slowly. Listen for a click just above closed position. It should click just above closed/idle. If it doesn't then the idle motor might not be working at idle.

Replaced the turbo I have less smoke, car seems to run better, however after about ten or fifteen miles it seems to start knocking. should I be looking for a new engine or have this one rebuilded?

hey joseph...It might be a good idea to check the timing on the belt, cam could be a tooth off.
I,ve seen it before on my 940... all the simptoms that you have described were apparent on mine.

Its easy to do and it could possibly save a lot of time and money...

Thanks jfunez

I'll check the timing again .do the timing mark for the oil pump have to be right on the mark ? or do it matter when the distirbutor is on the rear of the head.

It is better to have it lined up. The shaft from the pulley in is also a counter balance shaft.
