Default Oil pump

So in the warm months, i am thinking about possably checking/ putting a new oil pump in my 91 740 T. And i am looking into doing this because i read that over time the oil pump wont just fail, but rather loose pressure very slightly. And from time to time my oil light flickers for jsut a second. And when there is no pressure i may be in danger of throwing a rod which i cant afford happening. So my question is where is the oil pump? Is it in the oil pan? And would i just need to take the oil pan off to check? Thanks Guys.

Default RE: Oil pump

Here's a link to a guy who changed the pump in his 240. http://cleanflametrap.com/oilpan/

I bet it would be similiar to your 740.
