Ol' Headlamp Convert
Saw this photo of an '85 Wagon with older, round headlamps and was wondering what all goes into this convert or if it's even possible.

Miss my '71 142s and would love to have a little of that style back! Convert would be performed on a 1987 240dl. Thanks in advance!

Shouldn't be too hard... The body is basically the same. You can source the older parts from a JY pretty cheaply. Just a matter of swapping the headlight buckets... Then again, I haven't done it myself, so...
the flathoods have different fenders, hoods, and bumpers
i was behind an older 240 wagon the other evening, this had the small tail lights. like this one, http://goo.gl/3XHWa, so it must have been a flathood, but I never saw the front.
this is the old style I like....

but I drive a 740

the dual round configuration should be adaptable to a 'tv panel' car. you probably need a different grill and trim strips and side lights.
