Original B21F instead of later installed B230

Original B21F instead of B230?
Hi,
I have a '79 California 245 which originally had the 2.1 K-Jet.
The previous owner probably had that die on him and replaced it with a B230.
I'm wondering if i will earn double kudos if i refit a B21F for both originality AND (maybe) better performance+fuel efficiency (?).
Some people say the B230 with the carb is simply a better, more reliable engine....
Thoughts?

b230f with LH2.2/2.4 is more efficient than anything with carbs.
kjet is fine when it works, but getting harder and harder to find parts for when it doesn't. weren't the B21F's counterflow motors ? (exhaust and intake on same side of head) ... I know the B230 is crossflow (intake on left side of car, exhaust on right), so swapping between these requires significant routing work.
unluckily, if you're in california, anything 1975 or newer requires smog tests, and engine replacements have to be inspected by a BAR referee, if you install a newer engine, you have to install all the engine management that came with the year of the newer engine, and it has to meet that newer year's smog requirements.
