Still have no overdrive.

I replaced the overdrive solenoid yesterday and, in the process, found that the old one wasn't even connected. The wire was cut above the connector. The wire from the shifter wasn't long enough to reach from under the car, so I had to add a length to it in order to connect the new solenoid to it.

After all of the trouble, the overdrive still doesn't work. I also took out the overdrive relay, opened it up and sprayed a little WD-40 on the contacts, worked it a little and put it back. Still no go.

Suggestions?

 

Now check the wiring between the relay and the shifter.
