Exclamation PCV job on a B21F - 1982 volvo 244

So i have a B21F, old school K-Jet system, and im having trouble trying to do a PCV replacement. I got the manifold off (which was already quite the pain) just to find that the whole K-Jet system, with all the fuel lines sits right on top of the PCV making it completely inaccessible. Is there any way of changing out my PCV box on this motor without taking apart my entire fuel system? Ive been searching for answers on how to properly do this job everywhere to no avail. Even my Haynes manual doesn't have a section for PCV. Please help!

Why? Is it clogged? My Volvo specialty shop worked on those b21.23.230 engines for 40 years and never saw a clogged one

Must be. A few weeks ago oil started pouring out of the valve cover and front cam seal (or whatever gasket is up in the top front). Everyone I asked told me that PCV and flame trap are clogged. I pulled out the flame trap and there wasn’t a single hole visible on the thing. So now I’m guessing that if the flame trap is bad then the PCV must be gunked up too and that I should probably just swap it out while I’m already working on the car. From what I’ve heard the PCV box needs to be serviced from time to time.

If you connect a hose to where the flameshield was can you blow air through it - into the crankcase with the oil cap off?

Be sure to use a small drill bit to clear the metered orifice on the intake manifold that the small hose on the flameshield holder is connected to when you put a new flameshield.

And the aluminum block pcv boxes clog badly - yes. Red blocks - not so much.

Edit - I may be thinking of the EFI cars for the metered orifice - it's been a while since the last CIS car in 1981 (1985 for 240 turbo)
