Default Swap engine and aircon components from 740 to 240

Hi,

I have found a 1984 diesel 240. Its chassis and all components seem perfect. But I don’t like diesel and it doesn’t have airconditioning also.

I can find a 740 petrol with airconditioning. Mu question is that, is it possible to migrating engine and airconditiong from 740 to 240 easily?

regards

The biggest problem is the location of the distributer. On MOST 740/940s the distributor was mounted on the rear of the head. The 240 does not have enough space between the firewall and engine for the distributor there and requires one mounted on the drivers side (US) front of the engine. There have been some 740/940s with the side mounted distributor so if you have one of those it should be no problem. You still would need an engine harness from a gasoline 240 as well as I expect your diesel harness will not work nor will the harness from the 740.
