Default Possible #2 and #3 injector clogged 88 volvo

I've been suffering a hesitation at idle and driving. While the engine is running I pull #1 & 4 injector plugs off and it almost stalls out. I pull #2 & 3... No change in motor. Are these clogged? If so can I use seafoam to clean them? Screwdriver test on the injector shows they're turning on and off. Any assistance appreciated

I was questioning my injectors about a year back. Did a bunch of research. I found an idea of using empty mini water bottles. Prime the fuel and check if they equally fill with fuel. You can also buy a tester to see if each injector is receiving the signal. I did have one weak injector (using the screwdriver method) and ended up buying a rebuilt set online that had a four nozzle jet rather than the standard 240. Note there is also shops online and probably around your town that can test and service the injectors.

Another idea is pickup some injectors from a junkyard that are compatible. They are very easy to remove and inexpensive from pick-n-pull. I had actually did this until my new injectors came and it worked out okay to get me by.

Start simple if you have not already done so like replace your fuel filter, check your pressure regulator, listen to your fuel pumps, etc.

Good luck!

Never seen clogged injectors on these, surely possible but not likely. The tests you mention may indicate problems with those cylinders alright but those could be caused by plugs, wires, valves, etc. Better look at those first! You have a misfire, the injectors are far down the line as the possible cause.

Back in March, had a no start issue. Tested for fuel pressure, pumps, checked injectors with noid lights, checked plugs. Ended up finally taking to the shop. They replaced distributor, cap, rotor, plugs, wires, timing belt, and ect. This go around I cleaned the maf and throttle body. And replaced the ignition coil. I even swapped out the ECU with a good one to see any difference. After the coil swap its running a little more smooth. I can drive down the road but still some hesitating/missing while on the accelerator. Drove the car to work, fine. Drove home, started hesitating bad. Barely made it up a very steep hill. What made me think coil was bad, it that the radio was cutting out in reaction to the hesitating, no power but reception.

Get a new shop! This massive part swapping means they have no clue but to gouge you! Who knows the quality of the new installed parts? Just because they are new doesn't mean they are above suspicion.
Take a compression test at this stage to eliminate bigger causes, go from there!

Yeah, I'm looking. I wasn't happy with how long they had it, but its been running flawlessly since. Until the hesitating started. After swapping out the coil and today I put seafoam in the tank. Ran it at idle for about half hour and took it for a test drive, seems to be running smooth. Didn't have any hesitating even uphill. I did notice a fair amount of "black" deposit coming out of the exhaust pipe but seems to be cleaner now after the drive

put fresh NGK copper plugs gapped to .028", fresh BOUGICORD wires, fresh BOSCH cap and rotor. Leave injectors alone.

Unplug maf and go for a drive, does it feel any better? If so, bad maf.
