Default is it the power stage? help I'm a Girl!

1986 gle740 wagon so I cant get any spark from the distributor, Have I missed something? my coil and hall sensor are good, tested all that and everything points to the "power stage. that sits on side behind air cleaner,I tested the lead and have power going to it.It is like $140 bucks. Can the sensor itself be taken out and tested? this is what happend: repaced water pump, drove maybe 24 miles then timing belt broke, replaced, now the distrb, dosent spark, actually a very weak spark.....so ....its in the ignition system somewhere?? Right? fuel delivery system is operational..........or the hall sensor itself?(is inside dist.)only tested the lead and that has correct volt. Help and insight will be so greatly appreaciated I have to tackle this alone and dont want to scrap the car,it has to be something I am just missing.
