The power windows have stopped working on my recently purchased 1993 240, they were working just fine a few hours ago, and now the switches on all doors, and the driver panel are completely unresponsive.

I can tell by the slit in the accordion on the driver side door that the electrical system has been worked on. However I know nothing of electrical work and very little of mechanics. Does anyone know what the culprit here could be?

I also noticed on the fuse panel below the steering wheel/front dash is missing a fuse, it is the 6th one down, I'm not sure if that was missing when I got the car or not though, or if it is related to my problem.

 

it could be almost anything, and it will require someone with some electrical troubleshooting skills and access to the volvo wiring diagrams for 1993 240's to test and eliminate potential root causes.

what does the legend on the back of the fuse panel cover say your fuse 6 is ?

 

Hey pierce, thanks for the response. Good news, just as mysteriously as the windows went out, I got in the car today to drive to work, and they worked just fine.

As for the fuse, I'm not sure, I left the panel at my dad's, and won't be able to go grab it until Sunday. I definitely want to put it back on and find out what that fuse is though, don't want to be driving around with all the fuses exposed.
