Default Question about bulb integrity sensor

Could a bulb integrity sensor cause brake and tail lights to malfunction on a 1991 240 sedan?

Thanks.

Default bizarre tail lights

I have an 86 240

Daytime...? the turn signals and the dash lights turn on as I press the brakes...and the light bulb indicator comes on. some days the bulb indicator stays on and don't have brake lights...only regular rear lights...I step on the brakes and no freaking lights. I change the giant red circular relay just below the steering wheel and seemed to help a bit...now I got break lights when I press the pedal but still the bulb light indicator comes up....I noticed that when I lock the doors from the drivers door...the car stalls.....WHAT THE ????? I BOUGHT A BUNCH OF RELAYS AND WILL TRY SWITCHING ONE BY ONE...I'LL KEEP YOU POSTED

I ordered a bulb failure warning sensor because I've checked everything else I know . I'll let you know if it fixes my problem.

I have no idea what could be going on with yours either. Maybe the central locking relay, mounted behind the center of the instrument panel, or else a bad central locking motor in one of the doors? Your 1986 uses a different relay bulb failure warning sensor than mine. They are supposed to be located below the driver's side air vent, was the one you changed a bulb failure warning sensor? My Bentley book shows a flasher relay below the steering wheel.

A broken bulb sensor can cause all sorts of problems, all the lights in the car run through it. After only letting me have lights on one side of my car for a month, mine finally shorted out and blew up. Why didn't it blow a fuse instead of blowing up when it shorted out? The circuit it was shorting out was the headlight circuit, which has no fuse or breaker. It also melted most of the wiring for my headlights. Without the bulb sensor you have no lights at all. I still don't have one I just cut off the socket and soldered the right wires together.

I guess that was it. I put a new one in yesterday, and everything works again. Strangely, the problem remained and the bulb failure light lite up until I unplugged the brakelight sockets one more time. Thanks

Redbottle, hope you get it fixed, electral problems are the most aggravating. I think the taillights are the biggest design flaw in the 240s.
