I have a 1995 Volvo 940 and I have a tape=>Phone jack set up so I can listen to my mp3 player through the stereo.

just like that.

Now when I am listening to the Tape my stereo is very quiet and I need to turn it up all the way to even hear it.

It is odd because when I have the FM radio on the volume is normal.

Does anyone know what could be the problem and how to fix it?

the head on that pack needs adjustment

 

try cleaning the head in your radio also

 

TURN THE VOLUME UP ON YOUR MP3 PLAYER....Player

My wife did the same thing, you have to adjust the volume on the mp3 player.

 

I run the MP3 player at full volume and adjust the volume with the car. You get the best signal with the least interference across the heads that way.
