Default Radio: right speaker channel intermittent

The factory radio (model CR 814) on my 940 has what may be a dirty volume control. The right hand speakers don't work unless I jiggle the ****. Works when "cranked" at high volumes (but then my ears hurt!).

My question is, is it worth my time to try and fix this? I plan to squirt some electronics contact cleaner behind the **** as a first effort.

How is the **** removed? I tried pulling but haven't given it a lot of force for fear of breaking something. Don't see a setscrew.

Are there instructions for radio removal somewhere on the 'net?

TIA

The **** should just pull off.Yes it might be tight but it is just pushed on.The trim panel that goes from around the radio to the steering column should come off the access the screws to remove the radio.

Yes a dirty volume switch will cause that to happen.
