Default Radio stopped working 93 volvo 940

Long story short, my radio stopped working after the car got jumped incorrectly. The jumper cables got placed on the wrong sides. I didn't notice, my father didnt until a wee bit later. Checked the battery and its still working good. But the radio wont turn on and allow me to enter its code.

Its fuse broke, so I changed it and checked all the other ones.

Any tips? Or did we fry the radio?

The fuses should have protected the radio. There is one IN the radio, besides the one in the fuse box. Check them both?

a fuse might not protect a radio against reverse polarity, although the radio probably SHOULD have had diodes on its supply input to protect it against this.

even a few seconds of reverse polarity can turn electrolytic capacitors into popcorn.

Sure enough it was the little 5 watt fuse on the back of the radio.
Thank you lev!
