Well i have a big problem with my 1992 volvo 940gl. Basically it has been working all day. Until i went to a store, i came out and started my car turned on the ac, and noticed that the ac compressor was shot or not working. I headed home and noticed that i had left the ac button so i turned the ac off and looked at the tempature gauge, and noticed that the car was over heating. I have already looked at the coolent level and noticed that the level is fine. I drove it around again today about 3 or 4 hours after this had happened, went to a couple of machanics shop to see if they could take a quick look at it, but no such luck. Along with it over heating when i got home earlier today when i first noticed that it was over heating, i had shut down the car then turned the key and noticed gauge red that it was still over heating, its like the gauge did read that it was over heating earlier today.


need some help asap
i dont want to reuin the block but i have to drive to franklin tomorrow and on thursday.

 

change the t-stat it is probly stickin

 

Ok. But would the car be over heating cause the ac compressor not working too. So in theory the car is actually over heating because the ac compressor stopped working.

 

Well thanks it was a bad thermostat. Actually the thermostat was cracked/ broken on one side.
