Rear Brake thingy
Bolted to the underneath of the car is a thingy that the steel brake lines coming from the front of the car enter and the flexible rubber brake lines exit. What is this thing? Can I transplant one froma 240 wagon to a sedan?
The reason I am asking is that I cannot get the flexible lines out of this thingy on the sedan due to major rust. I have a good set taken from a wagon that isn't rusty at all. I can get the steel brake lines out so I was thinking of swapping the units.

I have an '89 240 DL wagon and a '91 240 sedan. Both have the same assembly. The assembly has two cylindrical shaped objects - each has the steel brake line go in on one side and the flexible rubber line coming out on the other side. It's pretty clear that one cylinder handles the left side line while the other handles the right side line.
I was wondering if it had anything to do with balancing the front/back braking.

they are valves that regulate the weird but amazing braking powers of the 240s. as you may know240s have 2 aux. braking systems (thats why so many bleeder screws on the calipers) they regulate pressures between both systems, if one should fail those valves keep the pressure from being in excess causing lock up...(cave-man type ABS) basicly. so in affect yes it does deal with balancing of the braking system.
