Default Rear brakes sticking question

We just had the rear brake calipers replaced two weeks ago on our 89 245 because one had froze up. Now at least one seams to be sticking and squeaking a bit before releasing. Also heard some weird noise going in reverse uphill. The replacements were not oem parts.

What could be the problem here? Does volvo have any brake pad hardware like clips/springs that could be missing? Could the slider pins just need to be lubed? Could it be adjustment of the hand brake? How is the hand brake adjusted on this car?

It rained pretty hard the day/night before if that could contribute.

Thanks!

If the calipers were replaced, those items should have been inspected, cleaned and lubed or replaced as needed.

That is obvious, but it wasn't done by a volvo dealership. You would be suprised how many mechanics won't lube caliper slider pins so they can replace the calipers again in a few years when they freeze up. Or replace with non-oem parts that actually have some brake pad hardware missing.

Either way I will be looking at the brakes this weekend. I was just hoping someone could say "yeah, volvo uses spring clips to push the calipers away from the rotors when the brakes are not in use" or whatever.
