Rear end noise 93 240
I recently changed out the rear trailing arm bushings to polyurethane ones. Since then I have whining and howling noises when I accelerate and decelerate above 40 mph. Sounds like rear diff noise. I then pulled the driveshaft and replaced the center bearing and loose u joint near the diff. Still getting the noise. Never had the noise until changing bushings. Related to poly bushings somehow it seems. Anyone experience this? Vehicle has 191k miles and runs strong.
Lev I do not recall any noise like that before. But the poly bushings may be somewhat of a culprit. I will have the diff. fluid level checked. There are no leaks but will check anyway. Thanks for your quick response.
If poly was better - why don't any car manufacturers use them?
I wish I had known about potential problems with the poly bushings. Spent good bucks to get them installed. But you are right. I need to to put new rubber ones in and see what happens. Will check diff fluid level first though. Will let you guys know. Thanks.
