Default Replacing a MAF sensor

I have been told by my local Volvo shop my '85 245 needs a new Mass Air Flow Sensor. For new sensor and labor is big $. I'm sure pulling one off a junked 240 might be hit or miss. Has anyone replaced there MAF sensor? Is it as simple as installing a new one or will it have to be programed to my ind. vehicle?

The MAF is a sensor, not a computer. You only need to get a matching sized MAF with the proper connector and same size diameter. If you change diameters youmightneed to reprogram the ECU.

Thanks...I just pluged the new onein and it worked great. Iwas thinking I would have to resetsomething to let the ECU know there was a new MAF. Sheruns like a top.
