Sheared wires inside headliner - please help
I recently bought a 78' Volvo 245DL at a charity auto lot for $700, and I couldn't be happier with it
. One thing I need to fix though is a set of wires that travel along the passenger side hinge for the rear hatch. They somehow got sheared off, and it would be really nice to have my rear defrost and my rear wipers working in this weather. I was planning to pull the headliner(part, or the whole thing) and simply butt connect some sutible wires on to the old ones and run them don the the wiper motor/defrost, but I started looking at how the headliner was attached and got bewildered. Its in beautiful shape right now and I would hate to ruin a good thing. Does anyone have experiance in pulling these headliners off and putting them back on? Thanks

- What mouldings are you refering to? There seems to be a frame that goes around the top interior that the rods go into, but this whole frame is wraped by the headliner(none of the frame is exposed). The headliner appears to be held on to the outer frame with a adhesive, should I just peel the headliner off and stick it back on when I'm done? I just need to get the passenger side corner off to get to the broken wires. Thnaks for the reply
Thanks for your help Tech, but I found my answers right here; http://www.swedishbricks.net/TechTip...teharness.html . I had the day off, so I was able to do a little research and found this article describing exactly how to fix my problem. The headliner - it just stretches off and when your done, it just goes right back on! [sm=goodidea.gif]I LOVE SWEDISH ENGINEERING!!!! Its so simple, yet so clever. Thanks again for you replies.
