Small problem. On my 86' 740 GLE with a standard transmission, the small orange arrow on the dash that tells you when to shift wont work anymore. It worked when i first got the car a year ago and then i stored the car and did some work so the battery was constantly being disconnected and so on. In the owners manual it says i need to re-set it by driving in all gears (except reverse i think) for 8 seconds and the little arrow will flash. I have tried this but no flashing arrow and it dosent work after that. The fuse looks good and i know the small bulb is good because it lights up and stays on when i start the car, then goes away when i make my first shift and move the car. Another thing is the overdrive DOES work fine on the car (its the electronic overdrive 5th). I played with relays but nothing. Am i missing something guys? I dont mind it not working as i can drive the car fine but my girlfriend is dead set on learning how to drive stick and i think the little arrow will help her a lot as she gets used to the car etc. Any help would be great.
