Default Speedo Instrument cluster

Hello, my first post.

I would like th hear how many people have problems with their instrument cluster (speedo etc) not working.

From what I can gather it is a world wide problem with Volvo's.

I love my 240 GL and love Volvo's but find it so annoying that they are so hard to replace.

Not sure I agree with "hard to replace." I pulled an instrument cluster out of a 240 at a junkyard in about 10 minutes, first time.

A lot of the problems with 25-year old 240s are related to bad electrical connections, especially grounds.

In a 740 precisely where are the screws which must be removed to get the instrument cluster out?

It's precisely the two phillips head srews that are on the bottom of the pod behind the two caps, one usually marked "unleaded fuel only" that need to be removed.
