Default A/T fluid color and leak??

As of last post, I did A/T flush and found A/T fluid in coolant. I probably broke the connector inside the radiator. Finally I installed a new radiator today and flushed both systems. I have 2 problems.

1) I flushed the A/T system with 12 qt. of fluid. The color of fluid that came out was pink/salmone color and non transparent. The color on the dip stick was ruby red/grape transparent. It was until the 12th qt. that it turned slightly reddish/grape color and semi clear. I test drove for 5 miles and it actually felt smoother than before. I checked the dip stick again. It was the same pinkish/salmone color and non transparent like the old flush. I almost want to say it has very small bubbles on it. I did flush job before on my 91 744 turbo (R.I.P.) and it was not the same. The old fluid was brownish and the new one that came thru was reddish like the fresh one.
Do I have problem with this tranny???

2) The A/T line coupler/screw has a small leak at the radiator connector. When it was idling, I noticed a touch of red at the screw. After the test run, it has a quarter size wet spot on the hose and lower A/T connector underneath. I tightened the coupler as much as I could. I did not want to over did it as it was the same line that started this new radiator install deal. Will telfon tape work here???

Thanks for all the help in advance.

Depending on how you did the flush you may or may not have removed all of the fluid. If you disconnected the line at the rear of the transmission and started the engine and kept putting more fluid in until it ran clear you should be good. You need to remember there is a lot of fluid in the torque converter so it is very hard to get the whole system clean. Even if it is not transparent red it still may be OK. As for the fitting it sounds like you have a thread/seat problem with it. The leak is not coming from the threads but it is because the seat is either distorted or not seating correctly. You may need to cut the end of the tube off and splice in a new fitting. This is a low pressure line so it should not be a problem. The other trick I would try is to get a small thin o-ring and put it in the fitting and tighten it up.

Keep flushing that transmission. Engine coolant destroys clutch pack material quickly.
Just keep flushing.
