Default timing issues and other questions...

Hi all, thanks in advance for any suggestions.

As I had stated in previous post, I got a 1981 245. It had been butchered by previous owners and shops trying to get it going again, including the fuel pumps being switched to various others, most of the harness taken out, fuel pump hardwired to be on continuous with ignition.
I opted for a weber.... Which I did...
The first test drive with the weber was amazing, I shifted out of 1st at around 30-35mph, tons of power, and ran like a champ.
Then I messed up by replacing the cam seal, and not watching where the timing marks were, because I assumed it lined up as they all do which is simple right? No.....
Timing marks for all 3 are set correctly.

Now when I try anything to fix it I either get 5mpg, or it will sound like it is redlined at low rpm.

A few things to consider that apply.... This has a "FAST XR 3000" Ignition module on it. There is also mention of a high performance cam in the records, but no specs.

I can get it set at 12 degrees, and it does as I stated above, it does not run right at all.

Any suggestions would be awesome.

Also, I got a earlier oil fill cap with the nipple on it, and hooked it up to the breather on the weber. It doesn't have anything in the cap, and I am wondering if I ought to look into putting a pcv valve in line, or not worry about it. The lower pcv did not appear to be working, and some seals are already leaking....

My ride: Volvo 242DL 1981 Aw55 mostly stock.
You've got yourself are real project.
I assume the original parts were not included?
Will it pass smog in your state even if you fix it as is?

Hi, and thank you for the reply. I finally got it working. I'm fine on smog in my state. Plus, I have a ton of past auto experience, and can get the carb tuned pretty damn close.
My current issues are that I do not think it is quite right, although it is driveable, The timing jumps around when I put a light on it, between 12 and 20 at idle (around 800RPM). I am wondering if it is the vacuum advance distributor, or the bushing for it...not sure quite yet.

Add to the hat that after fixing all that stuff, it blessed me with an exhaust leak if I open any of the front windows a crack, and the other day in a rainstorm the wipers decided it was time to jump ship....
I am an athiest, but have requested my step daughters priest to come and excise the car....

Just to try and get more info, try revving a bit like 1500-2000 to see if advance behaves the same. Also T a vacuum gauge into the dist vacuum advance hose to see if stable. Maybe an intake problem, manifold or intake valve causing vacuum pulses.
Perhaps even dist mount or shaft is loose.
