Trunk lock/release

Trunk lock/release
Hey all,
I have a relatively simple problem which would have a simple solution if I could get the right part.
My trunk release and lock on my 1982 240 Sedan is currently out of it, (not sure how that happened, I purchased the vehicle this way) but fortunately I have the lock and release mechanism that originally came with the vehicle.
It goes right into place and works great, the only problem I have is keeping it in there. I would assume there was some sort of pin that went on the backside of where the key goes in, but that part is long gone.
Does anyone know of a way to get a replacement? Or has anyone had this problem and come up with a good way to hold it in the trunk without purchasing anything?
I would prefer to not use tape/glue/etc. because I really want this to be a permanent fix.
Any help is appreciated, thanks!

Your very best bet is a junkyard. Pick-n-pull types are the best for this--you can go in and rummage and take things apart to see how they work, etc. And 240's are usually plentiful in those kinds of establishments... If not, try ebay where you'd probably have to buy the whole assembly... I wouldn't bother with a dealer for an '82. Even if they could order the part, they'd probably want more for it than the whole car's worth...
