Vacuum hose mystery
Ok so while I was addressing more issues with the wagon today I realized how horrible a few of the vacuum hoses are in the bay. My issue is some of these hoses have disintegrated to the point where I don't know where they are supposed to go. I snapped a photo of one the ran out of the front side of the throttle body. Any idea where it goes? I have the Bentley manual but unless I'm blind (I may be) I don't see really many diagram of vac lines for this car....
if this is a USA model car, there should be a vacuum diagram on a sticker under the hood somewhere. it varies year to year and by smog equipment (for instance, many California cars have EGR valves).
Pierce, thank you so much for responding to every question I have. I checked under the hood and only found this diagram...no help. That then made me want to check the manual and what did I find? Oh yes, a California car orig sold in L.A.... Any Ideas on where to find a vacuum hose diagram anywhere?
so what year/model is this? from that vacuum diagram, it suggests it has the 'chrysler' ignition control unit mounted on the right fender, so its probably a mid 80s 240, but I'd rather not guess.
that diagram is showing the emissions related vacuums, one to the abovementioned ignition control unit (goes to a bellows on the lower front side of the module), it shows the vacuum line to the fuel pressure regulator thats on the end of the fuel rail, and it shows two lines to the charcoal evaporation cannister, which is down under the air filter box, I think.
there's probably 2 non-emissions vacuum lines, one fat one for the power brake booster, and another for the dashboard air vent controls. these both have a one-way valve on them that's typically a inline disk thats white on one side and black on the other. the one for the dashboard vents goes through the firewall behind the engine.
