But it's having starting issues. Sometimes after it's warm it will just crank and crank. But it will eventually start. I'm getting good spark and fuel. It's runs fine after it's started. So I got under the hood and started looking around heard a vaccum leak. I found that this hose that is dry rotted and whistling. If I wrap my fingers around it seems to start normally even though I can still hear some air escaping. I don't know if this is my issue or not but it seems like a good place to start.
The problem is, I don't know what it is so I can order a replacement.
It comes out of the top middle of the intake manifold, then curls down and then comes back up into the bottom of this solenoid. One side of the solenoid goes into the intake.
I've attached pictures. Anyone know what this hose is?
that's your idle valve, idle motor, IAC - whatever you want to call it. That valve is supposed to control the idle speed - any air leaks in the hoses going to it will be unmetered air (air not going through the air mass meter) and will create a lean condition - possibly making it hard to start, worse when hot.
