Should this hose be attached??
I was in the process of replacing some of my rubber vacuum hoses w/ silicon ones and noticed this one hose not attached to anything on one end

It's the one in the middle here. It looked to me like it should attach to the Air intake as there was a nipple there on the underside of the hose after the MAF sensor.... Looks like it would fit this hose. Anyone know if this should be attached?

Thanks for the help... hooked it back up w/ ziptie goodness and the car seems to run so much better. I used to get a loud whistle type noise right for about 1-2 seconds after the car was first started but no more.
Something strange has happened a couple times that i haven't noticed before when putting the pedal to the floor. It's only happened maybe 25% of the time, but when i do this, the turbo kicks in and everything is great. But all of a sudden it's like the turbo or something just stops. There is absolutely no accelaration for about a second or 2. Kind of like what would happen when you hit a governor for top speed. Not sure if this is from the turbo, or the fuel cutting off or what....
Any ideas?

I replaced the one on the top line (easiest to get to... it ran from near the turbo to the intake manifold ...the smaller line...not the one going underneath the airbox).
I ran out of tubing partially through which i hope to remedy shortly.

Overboost? Sounds like fun, but prolly not the best for the turbo i'd imagine. When it cuts out like that is that a way of trying to protect the turbo?
I think i'm going to replace the last 2 hopefully in the near future. Is there anything else i should consider fixing or checking out while i'm doing that? Figure if i'm working around the turbo i should explore a little.

Yes that is how the turbo protects itself.
Is the turbo return line leaking?
You will always see a little oil in the tubes.
If you look closely at the bottom of your intercooler there is a small drain hole for the oil to drain out of.

I haven't really looked at the turbo all that closely yet. May try to do it this weekend as i'll have access to a hoist.
Is it easier to access the return line from the top or bottom of the turbo?

The turbo return line is easy to get to from the bottom. You can't miss it its a big pipe that goes into the block about half way down the engine.
It might also be easy to replace one of the vaccum lines from the bottom as well.
